Since a while im having this BSOD - Driver_corrupted_expool. I have recently installed the following components to my PC (so yeah basically a new PC): - Motherboard (Asus z170 Deluxe) - CPU ( Intel i76700K) - GPU (HyperX Predator M.2 PCIE SSD 480GB) - RAM (HyperX DDR4 16GB) I had to install the full version of windows 10 because somehow my new SSD HyperX predator has a problem with upgrading from windows 7 to windows 10 and it would take like forever to upgrade to windows 10 (No really the install would take like 12 hours to get to 5% of the installation). So the installation of the full version of windows 10 worked fine, but now im getting this BSOD randomly (between 20min and 2 hours) I've searched the web to find a solution and came upon 'Driver verifier manager'. After trying out the 'Verifier manager' for the first time. I found out my MINIDUMP files tell me it is 'NTOSKRNL.WRONG.SYMBOL.EXE' what is causing this BSOD. So now I know what the problem is but I don't know how to solve this. I have already tried to do a clean install of windows 10 but the problem keeps persisting.
Any help would be really appreciated. Hi Gila020, Please share us the dump file, we will help to take a further look.
In addition to the dump file, Please check the article below and follow the suggestions described there: Bug Check 0xC5: DRIVER_CORRUPTED_EXPOOL If you have recently installed any new software, check to see if it is properly installed. Check for updated drivers on the manufacturer's website. To debug this error, use the special pool option of Driver Verifier.
If this fails to reveal the driver that caused the error, use the Global Flags utility to enable the special pool by pool tag. For information about the special pool, consult the Driver Verifier section of the Windows Driver Kit. Hi all, Many thanks for the replies, it seems I have found out the main source to my BSOD. I have a M-Audio Fast track pro (Audio interface) which only support's drivers up to Windows 8.1. I had this driver for Windows 8.1 installed (on Windows 10) and that has been causing the BSOD. Haven't got a BSOD since I've unplugged the Fast track pro. Only problem now is that I have to buy a whole new Audio interface just because I am running on Windows 10 and M-Audio doesn't update the drivers for this device no more:( Anyway thanks again for the support guys!
